Defining Leadership for Men Class 26

Garry is the Support Services leader overseeing the Print, Mail and Admins teams at Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). In his current role, Garry demonstrates his passion for leadership and team development by building strong business partner relationships focused on delivering innovative, reliable, cost-effective digital print solutions, direct mail services and administrative support at OPPD.

Before devoting his career full-time at OPPD, Garry Floyd progressed over a decade at Professional Research Consultants, Inc., a healthcare market research firm. Garry has a Resilience-Building Leadership Professional Coach certification through the Resilience-Building Leader Program (RBLP). Garry has never failed to step up to the plate volunteering his time honoring our community through the countless volunteer hours supporting Habitat for Humanity, Parks Omaha, Heat the Streets, Maha Festival, Rock the Block and United Way of the Midlands community volunteer events.

Garry graduated from Defining Leadership in 2022, and since then, the number of people reporting to him has doubled. “As a direct result of Defining Leadership, I honed my listening skills, and verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and mitigated my leadership anxiety,” he said. “Now, I wake up excited about what I can do to improve my team’s work-life balance. I also embrace opportunities to develop my leadership acuity. I’m very grateful to the Defining Leadership team for how they were able to reach in and pull forward the kind of intentional, empathetic and consistent leader I’ve always wanted to become.”

“Defining Leadership has been pivotal to my leadership journey.”
