Amy McLaughlin
Vice President, Programs and Operations
Amy McLaughlin, vice president of programs and operations at ICAN, has become a local voice on leadership development and the advancement of those in corporate leadership. She is responsible for overseeing ICAN’s program offerings, including Defining Leadership, Examining Unconscious Bias, Emergenetics, Leadership Coaching and ICAN customized programs and events. These programs, now reaching hundreds of people annually, have grown in scope, quality and credibility with her involvement. Under her direction, ICAN programs are now offered across the country. Engaging with ICAN faculty members from across the Midwest, McLaughlin enjoys working with these experts to develop new cutting-edge programs for ICAN clients.
Leaders become great not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others
McLaughlin is responsible for program direction and execution, business operations and board of directors meetings at ICAN. She participates in the creation of the ICAN strategic plan and annual operating report. She oversees the annual ICAN Leadership Award and plays a role in the ICAN Executive Women’s Summit during the annual Women’s Leadership Conference.
McLaughlin is a graduate of numerous Leadership Development programs, including FGI’s national program, Bringing Spirit to Leadership, the INFLUENCE program, national leadership program Leadership Ascent, and several ICAN programs, including Defining Leadership for Women. She has served on Creighton University’s Youth Leadership Omaha Selection Committee for the past 15 years. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Creighton University, McLaughlin has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha. She and her husband, Matt, have two daughters and spend much of their free time on the sporting field enjoying them play soccer, basketball, softball and track and field.
